The object of engineering heritage requiring the immediate help – the 128-meter hyperboloid tower-bearing of the NiGRES electric main passage over Oka River in Nizhniy Novgorod region – is the only survivor out of six bearings built by Shukhov on the bank of Oka River in 1927-29. The second one out of two that have survived until our days was barbarously ruined in 2005.

The group of Austrian and German specialists head by the Director of Institute for the history of construction and protection of the architectural memorials at the University of Innsbruck (Austria), Professor, Doctor Reiner Graefe and the specialists of the Nizhniy Novgorod state architectural and constructional university examined the condition of the 128-meter tower on Oka River and prepared the working project of its anti-breakdown repair (the third part of the tower’s metal structures has been stolen).

Together with German, Austrian, Moscow and Nizhniy Novgorod scientists and specialists the Foundation conducts the fund–raising for urgent anti-breakdown repair of Shukhov’s tower on Oka River and appeals to you to make your contribution in its salvation!
